Face shield masks

Idea generation
A decrotive mask or face shield for the use of motor cycle riders, motor-cross and air soft gamers. The masks will provide eye and face protection from air soft pellets, which are used as projectiles by airsoft guns. Also the shields can provide protection from insects and other hazards that motorcycle riders may face.
Idea Screening
The idea to use these masks as paintball masks was initially considered, however the masks would then require heavy duty leneses (poly carbonate) which would prove to be to expensive and the risk of injury from sub quality lenses could result in a law suit. Paintballs travel at speeds of around 200mph and a point blank hit may compromise the regular sunglass lenses that will be used in the masks.
Concept development and testing
I have sculpted the prototype and have casted a wax version for proper lens and strap fitting. I am also currently researching suppliers for all the components.
Market strategy development
I plan to use social media sites (facebook) as much possible to introduce the product to multiple circles of friends and potential customers. I will also provide sample promotional masks to groups that are affiliated with the target market, such as motorcycle groups and ATV enthusiasts.
Business analysis
In my competition research I have noticed that there are not many masks with a sculptural quality and even fewer with the level of detail I will provide. The average cost per unit will be around $20 and I will charge $200 for each unit. The reason for the high cost will be due to the level of sculptural integrity and the limited amount of additions made (250).
Product development
I am currently in the process of finalizing a production plan that will standardize the process of the products fabrication. The main issue is finding a supplier that will suit my demand for components.
Test marketing
I have not had an opprotunity to test the market, however the response to the prototype designs has been positive.
